The Aboriginals
Aboriginal (Indigenous Australians) were the first inhabitant of Australia locating back to almost 125, 000 years ago. Indigenous Australians traveled from Africa to Asia around 70, 000 years back and have known to have come to Australia 50, 000 years ago. Most of the population of aboriginals lived in the South East parts of Australia along the Murray River. The aboriginals relied strongly on the land and water which provided them resources which enable them to live. Different groups specialised in different skills for the environment in which they lived, such as hunting, fishing or gathering. Their religious beliefs were very strong and are still practised today.
Dreaming:
Dreaming is the relationship between the spiritual, the natural environment (animals) and elements of the world, either pictured in language, art or music. Indigenous people believed that as descendants of ancestral beings they had a duty to care for sacred places that provided living for ancestors. This was an important part of aboriginal dreaming events.
Early Occupation:
The Indigenous Australians were the very first to occupy Australia. They were known to have first arrived approximately 50,000 years ago. They dispersed into nations with little tribes around the coast and rivers, hunting and gathering food and resources often moving from location to location from change in richness of resources.
